SOLUTION-FOCUSED

Divorce is a difficult decision and often a tumultuous time. With up to half of marriages ending in divorce, you are not alone. Maybe you tried marriage counseling and it did not work. Separation can be difficult to navigate. There is hope and, done skillfully, it is often a new beginning.

I can help with

01

Couples Counseling

Sometimes you need someone to help work through a rough patch with your partner. I can help you see things from a different perspective or help your partner understand where you’re coming from.

02

Co-parenting Consultation

I can help you create a plan for amicably sharing custody with minimal disagreements. As a trained mediator and parenting coordinator, I have experience working with co-parents who have difficulty agreeing or resolving conflict. Seeking out counseling during custody disputes can help reduce conflict between parents and help parents focus their interactions on the wellbeing of the children.

03

Parent Coaching

Parent coaching is a short-term intervention that provides parents with hands-on, solution-focused skills to facilitate behavior management and increase positive connection within their relationships with their children.

04

Court-Appointed Services

In certain circumstances, the Probate and Family Court will appoint an evaluator or Parenting Coordinator to help families resolve a child custody or parenting time dispute.

FAQS

Will we meet together or separately?

For committed couples who are looking for help in a specific area, I will see you together. The same goes for parents seeking consultation regarding a parenting issue.

For separated and divorced co-parents, I often like to get a sense of what the problem is from each individual before I will consider a joint session. Some co-parents just aren’t quite ready to problem-solve in a joint session right away. For some, I will meet a handful of times to begin working on the problems individually. While this process takes longer, I have found it is ultimately more productive.

Will you meet our children?

I decide this on an individual case by case basis. I often won’t meet the child because the problems are best solved by the adults.
