About
JENIFER ZAJAC, LICSW
I have spent over twenty years as an advocate for children and families.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, I went on to Fordham University School of Social Work where I received a M.S.W. in 2002, specializing in child welfare. Later, I earned a certificate in clinical work with children and adolescents from Springfield College.
For the first nine years of my career, I investigated allegations of abuse and neglect of children. In private practice, couples have sought my help with the inevitable problems that come up when two people share their lives. Individuals and families have turned to me for assistance with early childhood concerns, parenting advice, and support with reorganizing their lives post-separation and divorce. Co-parents utilize consultation to find ways to reduce conflict and manage parenting disputes.
Court-appointed services
Guardian ad Litem
An equally important part of my work is serving as an evaluator or Guardian ad Litem for the Probate and Family Court. These appointments seek information about the best interests of the child. During this process, there are interviews with the parents, the children, and other people who know you and your family.
Parent Coordination
Parent Coordination is a specialized service that is meant to help co-parents learn to communicate, manage their parenting plan, and resolve other disputes. The role of the Parent Coordinator will vary based on the individual needs of the family and the contested issues in court.
My work
01
Connect
An engaged listener, I pick up on the subtle details. Together, we’ll take a look at what’s happening, what’s going well, and what can use some tweaking.
02
Problem-solve
Once I get a sense of the issues, there are many tools that I share with clients to help them recalibrate their relationships. Committing to changing problematic patterns can help facilitate lasting change.
03
Your pace
Building and rebuilding trust takes time. Its important to meet individuals and families where they are at.
